Fabulous Mt. Fuji

Aug 7th - 9th, 2023

Everyone knows Mt. Fuji! It's an iconic mountain created from the flowing lava of a volcano, which last erupted in the 1700's! It stands taller than Haleakala at 12,389 feet and is the tallest mountain in Japan. Many of the hiking trails on the mountain take some time and are challenging, so I chose a shorter "moderate" hike by Lake Motosu, which wound up being more challenging than we expected. With the recent rains and muddy trails, also turned out to be a bit slippery. Dexter almost lost one of his yoyo's to the trail. After a little slipping and sliding, he was able to retrieve it.

After the hike we ate some delicious noodle soup and visited a tea farm (Obuchi) which was unfortunately closed, but had a stunning view of Mt. Fuji!
